Project ‘Increasing the Attractiveness of the Labor Market through Professions Without Borders’ (status: implementation)

The project "Increasing the Attractiveness of the Labor Market through Borderless Professions" was implemented by the Association Iquality with support from Helvetas, within the project "Education for Employment in N. Macedonia, Phase 2".

The project “Increasing the Attractiveness of the Labor Market through Borderless Professions” was implemented by the Association Iquality with support from Helvetas, within the project “Education for Employment in N. Macedonia, Phase 2”.

In the labor market in North Macedonia, we are currently facing challenges such as a wave of emigration and brain drain among young people, a shortage of qualified labor in various fields, including sectors with high demand for workers, as well as often insufficiently adapted business sector strategies for increasing productivity and motivating employees. Undoubtedly, this is also due to various societal stereotypes about certain job positions and professions, and the fluctuation of the workforce, both within an industrial sector and between different industries.

Mission

The project aims to identify the challenges and stereotypes in the employment of young people, women, and persons with disabilities, and consequently to assist employers in the process of a strategic approach to improving human resources policies.

Activities

  1. Analysis of labor market trends and identification of existing stereotypes and the need for increased employability in relevant sectors and professions. Conducting two questionnaires aimed at companies from the target sectors, higher education institutions, women, people with disabilities, youth, and students.
  2. Design, production, and promotion of video products within the campaign “Increasing the Attractiveness of the Labor Market through Borderless Professions.” Production of 5 innovative and creative video products aimed at increasing interest among target groups in various professions that are typically approached stereotypically by job seekers, while also paying attention to the issue of inappropriate treatment by companies when attracting potential new employees in the country.

Companies from the target sectors and young people who are part of higher education or about to enter the labor market, women, people with disabilities

Donor

The project is supported by Helvetas within the framework of the ‘Education for Employment in North Macedonia’ (E4E@mk) program, acting as a facilitator between educational institutions and the private sector to help young people acquire skills that are in demand in the labor market and more easily find employment.
