INCLUDE has started across Europe: Strengthening the leadership and democratic participation of persons with disabilities

INCLUDE – Inclusive Leadership and Democratic Participation of Persons with Disabilities is a transnational project aimed at strengthening democratic participation and encouraging persons with disabilities to take on active and leadership roles within their communities and institutions.

Guided by the principle “Nothing about us without us”, the project aims to advance the representation of persons with disabilities in civic and political life, as well as in decision-making processes. Through training, practical tools, and new opportunities for participation, INCLUDE supports persons with disabilities as active agents, advocates for their own rights, and leaders in society.

INCLUDE has officially started across Europe!

The INCLUDE project has officially begun implementation in six partner countries: Austria, Portugal, Italy, Malta, Slovenia, and Macedonia.

Through local launch events, the partners presented the project to persons with disabilities, local authorities, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders, initiating discussions on inclusive leadership, democratic participation, and equal representation in decision-making processes.

The active participation and interest of those present confirmed a shared commitment to building a more inclusive Europe, in which persons with disabilities have the opportunity to participate in and influence the development of their communities.

These events marked the beginning of a two-year project dedicated to developing leadership skills, raising public awareness, and promoting inclusive governance across Europe.
