“Sport For All” is project initiated and implemented during the period from August 2019 until September 2020 by Association RekreAkcija (RecreAction) – Resen, which of one of the founders is Gere Tripkov, president of Equality NGO.
Participants in the project activities were citizens of the Municipality of Resen, Macedonia. One of the priority benefits was rehabilitation by handbikes, which will remain in available for use by persons with disabilities from this municipality. As part of “Sport For All”, about 40 participants additionally had the opportunity to experience yoga exercise lessons, skiing with adapted equipment, diving, swimming, kayaking, playing ping-pong.
The primary goals of this project included activities that leads to creating an accessible environment and societal norms, overcoming barriers for best possible living standard and experience of people with disabilities, as well as raising awareness, inspiring improved human rights respect leading to decreased discrimination of the citizens of Prespa Region, as well as presenting positive practices in active rehabilitation, equal opportunities.
Accomplished results included procreative involvement of people with disabilities in sports activities, motivation and encouragement for greater socialization and participation in social life for the time being of the project implementation, as well after its completion, and for the Municipality of Resen this project offered opportunities for promotion of the region as an attractive tourist destination for alternative tourism and adaptive sports.
“Due to offering a different perspective and inclusion of people who did not have prior opportunities for socialization, we managed to inspire joy. We addressed the issue of stigmatization by jointly having fun on the coast of Prespa Lake, on the bike trails, and in the city. We encouraged citizens of the municipality to be open-minded and to support vulnerable social groups. And of course for the first time in Macedonia we have promoted new types of sport activities and adaptive rehabilitation, such as adaptive cycling and skiing, diving, kayaking.” – stated Vice-President of RekreAkcija, Gere Tripkov.

The project is implemented with the support of the ReLOAD program, funded by the EU and the Municipality of Resen, and implemented by the United Nations Development Program – UNDP.
