The ID:CITIZEN project will foster inclusiveness and accessibility for people with disabilities in Macedonia, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia. Through a joint project on positive practices involving institutions, policymakers, stakeholders, published recommendations, the creation of empowered advocacy groups and an awareness-raising campaign, a lasting impact on accessibility will be achieved and the rights of people with disabilities will be strengthened. <\/p>\n\n

Mission<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Through project-based activities, the ID:CITIZEN project aims to reduce cultural, social and architectural exclusion, ensuring that people with disabilities in the four Central and Eastern European countries participate in social and cultural life. The project results align with the social development focus on promoting inclusive thinking in societies and addressing the protection and empowerment of minorities, the EU objectives of promoting equal opportunities and empowering marginalized groups. <\/p>\n\n

Results<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

ID: CITIZEN also aims to encourage the process of creating architectural system solutions and standards for inclusive design.<\/p>\n\n

The project consists of the following activities:<\/p>\n\n

  1. Study visits (2) to Poland and Slovakia to institutions and public spaces allow partners to identify best practices for accessibility.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. A campaign to raise public understanding of inclusivity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Establish a formal advocacy group for inclusive policies to eliminate barriers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Recommendations for good practices that institutions across the region and beyond can use to foster accessibility.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n

    The project is supported by the International Visegrad Fund, and implemented by the Equality Association in cooperation with the Integration Foundation (POL), Tenenet Association (SK), and the Hand in Hand Foundation (UNG).<\/p>\n\n
